Sampleroom.PH Experience

While browsing some skin care blogs before, I spotted a certain blog featuring a bb cream that she got from a site named Sampleroom. I'm surprised that the blogger ( sorry her name, hehehe ) got the featured product for free. At first, I was not interested that time because I was more focused on blogging about my latest OOTDs, hahaha.

But two months ago, I attended the recent Blogapalooza 2014 and Sampleroom is one of the participating booths. I just registered to site ( www.sampleroom.ph ) and viola, I got 100 points to use to get available samples from their site plus 2 bottles of Fortifying Shampoo and Conditioner from Zenutrients ( I'll feature it soon ).

This is the biggest savings that I got from Sampleroom. Its 450php in the market but I got this during summer and I just paid 100php.

Few days after I registered, I got an email alert about their new samples and those are Jergen's with their new packaging and improved formula. I got excited because its one of my favorite brands for lotion. In order for me to get the free samples, you need to have enough points and since I got 100 point upon registration and it only requires me to use 35 points for each bottle, I ordered two of them. I only paid for 100 pesos for the shipping and handling fee. Even if I still have to pay for the free samples, if you look at it in a budget-conscious perspective, you're getting the products in a discounted price. For example, if I buy those Jergen's Body Lotion in a store, it will cost me 140 pesos for 2 bottles. But by getting it from Sampleroom, you're just getting in for only 100 pesos so you'll get 40-peso savings.

The first sample that I got from them.

Most of the product that they have are in full-size and there are some that really comes in a small size that is really designed for sample use only. In order for us to decide if we're going to buy the full-size or if its worth it to repurchase it, the member should try the product for at least 3 to 5 days. Once they tried it, they just have to put their honest but constructive feedback about it. Yes, Sampleroom will allow you to post your review even if its not a good experience for as long as you adhere to their guidelines. What's more exciting about using their service is for every review, you will earn 1 point. Once they approve your review, you will not just earn additional 1 point, you will also get back the points that you used for the samples. You'll also earn points by referring a friend who might be interested on trying out some samples. Just put their email address to sampleroom's website then once your friend received the invitation and registered, you'll automatically get 1 point.

As of the moment, I've been getting stuffs from them for more than a year and I'm satisfied that is why I share to my friends those samples by posting it in my social media accounts like Facebook and Instagram.

C'mon,, go check their website at sampleroom.ph

Pond's White Beauty Pearl Cleansing Gel and Pond's Flawless White Dewy Rose Gel Review

This is a shame to post a review to a product that I've tried almost a year ago ( March of this year to be exact, hihihi ). This is one of the samples I got luckily from Sampleroom.ph together with Pond's Flawless White Dewy Rose Gel as part of the bundled package since it was newly launched that time.

I got this perfectly timing for the upcoming summer season since this new facial wash and facial cream from Pond's is a gel-based so it might be refreshing after using it. So on my first day of wash, I just squeezed just a pea-sized amount to my palm and I noticed that it has a mid-thick consistency. I love that it gives me a refreshing feel after not too mentholated, just the right refreshness as if you just splashed a water with a little ice cubes.

Then I started using the Pond's Flawless White Dewy Rose Facial Gel by applying the right amount to my face and neck. I love how quickly it absorbs to my face unless to the usual facial cream that I used that it gives you a greasy feel like it just sitting in your face with out the absorption.

I used it for few weeks and I noticed that there's a slight peeling in some parts of my skin but not obviously noticeable but the lightening effect is not so obvious.

Verdict:

This gel-based facial wash/cream combo is an interesting product from the brand that I trusted for so many years. This new addition to our all time favorite skin care line is perfect for sensitive skin but still wants a rosy white skin. But if you're looking for a whitening skin product, this is not the product that you're looking. This product is made for those target customer who wants TO TAKE TIME to achieve a rosy white skin without harming their skin by drying/peeling it. I will definitely purchase this IF I can't find my favorite skin care product in a supermarket or skin care store. At least the good it about it is safe and suitable to my skin.

Head And Shoulder Cool Blast Anti-Dandruff Shampoo Quick Review

Hello guys,

I'm so sorry for not updating this blog because I've been busy from work to the post that I just want to dive to bed and get enough sleep. I worked in graveyard shift setting. Anyway, let's go back to the main reason why I'm writing this.

I spotted this new bottle in a shampoo section of SM SaveMore. I found out that its a new variant of Head And Shoulder Cool Blast Anti-Dandruff Shampoo. I already tried their old mentholated version of it but after trying this, I noticed that the level of coolness of this shampoo is a little intense. I can't say that it effectively removes dandruff since its really not my problem anymore but I before I opt to use this brand during those times where the flakes in my scalp starts to become noticeable. I bought this because the weather is still hot even if we're now in the midst of June. I actually use this as a body wash to get a temporary relief from the summer heat. Hahaha.

Pantene 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner Review

Hello guys. Before the release of the TVC, this tube of conditioner created a noise in the internet and in the social media sites as Cosmo Beauty Crush. Pantene, released their ltest hair care product called Pantene 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner that promise to repair your damaged hair that you gained for 3 months in just 3 minutes. Sampleroom.PH offered a free samples which, unfortunately, weren't able to get one but thank God, everydayme.com.ph offered free samples, too which I got one luckily together with a pouch and some discount vouchers for selected P&G products. Even Lazada and Shopwise joined to the craze by selling it in an introductory price of 79php from the regular price of 159php.
I tried it for a week and I love the scent. I'm not sure but its like a light vanilla one. I personally recommend the Pantene 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner. Even There ( IG - @thehandmadechic ) and Celine ( IG - @chubbychooo ) can attest to the effectivity of this #CosmoBeautyCrush. Since I bleached and dye my hair that is why I need to take care of it that is why I tried it and this conditioner is true to its promise. This is perfect for summer since it's lightweight so it doesn't give you a heave and sticky feel after a long day. Even if I you a hair wax, still it doesn't feel like you put a lot of stuffs in your hair.

Bath and Body Works Holiday Traditions Twisted Peppermint Body Lotion Review

Its been a long time since I posted a review of the products that I used so I guess I can call this post as a comeback post.hahaha..Anyway, I want to tell you my experience on using this product, its a Bath and Body Works Holiday Traditions Twisted Peppermint Body Lotion Review.Actually this is my second time to buy this product from Bath and both Works since I'm totally satisfied with the result of it.Actually I bought this in January 2014 since during that time, my skin was started to feel dry because of the cold weather.Supposedly, I've decided to buy the regular version of it but when I spotted that they have the Holiday Traditions Collections, I decided to try it for 550pesos.The scent of it is very delicious because it smells like a peppermint candy.

When I tried it, I noticed that there's a cooling effect after I applied it which I don't like that time because during that time, it's really cold so I decided to keep it and just continue to use it in summer. When the summer arrived, I started to continue using it and it really feels so good.In terms of the moisturizing effect, it moisturize my skin although I still love the original formula of this. Bath and Body Works Holiday Traditions Twisted Peppermint Body Lotion has a combined power of  Shea Butter, Aloe , Vitamin E and Vitamin B5 whereas the Signature Collection only has Shea Butter, Vitamin E and Jojoba Oil.I find it so weird since the latter comes w/ more moisturizing ingredients.

Disclaimer: My review might be subjective since everyone has different skin type.Mine is extra dry.

Dark Secret Organic Coloring Shampoo Review

It's been a while that I haven't update my blog.Sorry for that.

Spotted this shampoo-based colorrant called Dark Secret in Isetann Supermarket. It's made from Singapore.I'm amazed with the price because I got it for only 15pesos.

Love the packaging...Aside from the shampoo, it also comes w/ a glove.

It claims to be an organic coloring shapoo because it comes w/ Silica, Gingko Biloba, Stinging Nettle and Peppermint.
 Instruction:

Just simply use it as a regular shampoo.Make sure you wear the gloves included in this package. But actually what I love about this is it doesn't give you a stain in your skin. You may feel a stinging sensation. Its up to you it you wash it for less than 15 minutes if you can no longer tolerate the stingy feel.

Verdict:
Dark Secret Organic Coloring Shampoo is somehow an effective colorant IF YOUR HAIR IS ALREADY DYED IN A LIGHTER SHADE.That's when you'll notice the difference. It doesn't stain your skin.

How To Bleach and Dye Your Hair At Home

I've been dyeing my hair on my own since 2007 and I only used the affordable hair colorants that you can buy in a banketa ( flee markets ) for only 10-20pesos.Dyeing is been part of my  routine every other month to the point that I can't stand myself having a natural, boring black hair. While the New Year is approaching, I'm thinking to dye my hair in a lighter shade and the usual cheap colorants is not enough so I decided to bleach it.

My office-mate gave me a pack of bleaching powder and oxidizing cream in 12% solution as a birthday gift to me.

( I forgot to take a shot of the oxidizing cream that she gave to me.Sorry guys..hehe)

1.I started the process by mixing 2-3 tablespoon of bleaching powder and 5 tablespoon of oxidizing cream.Mix it until the texture become creamy/foamy.

Photo Courtesy of http://julieannescudero.wordpress.com/2013/09/10/new-look-ombre-hair/... Check her blog esp. her article about achieving a ombre hair by doing it at the convenience of your home.
2.Smear the mixture to your hair until the mixture fully cover the hair and evenly distributed.

TIP:

I suggest to apply the mixture 1/2 inch away from the scalf and leave it for 20-30 minutes. After that, apply the remaining mixture to the scarf and leave it for 10 more minutes. This technique will prevent you from getting scarf irritation.

I don't have that thing that you wrap to your neck so have no choice but to do it while half-naked.hahaha
3.After 30minutes, rinse it using a milder formulated shampoo like baby shampoo or shampoo and conditioner in one.If you're not satisfied with the result, you can do it again to make it more lighter until you achieve the platinum one.

Here's the result of bleaching my hair.

4.After bleaching it, you can dye your hair with your desired color.I bought this from one of the stalls in Shopwise Cubao and I got it for only 10pesos.I love this one because first its affordable and second, it doesn't give me scalp irritation compare to the expensive ones where in a few days after dyeing, the scalp flakes are showing up.I bought the one in Purplish Red.

I used Zhanghua Permanent Hair Colorant

5.Same thing, just mix the both tubes in a plastic container and apply it evenly ( follow the tip that I suggested earlier ) and leave it for 30 minutes to an hour for as long as there's no itchy feeling in the scalp.

I use L'oreal Paris Hair Mask everyday after dyeing my hair until the normal texture goes back.It deeply nourish your damaged hair cause by using hair chemicals.

TIP: I suggest that when you take a bath, wash your hair first and apply L'oreal Hair Mask and leave it until you finish taking a bath.

6.Rinse it but don't shampoo because first you're hair is a bit brittle and second it may not absorb the color of your hair in full because you wash it.Just simple apply a conditioner to wash out just the excess mixture and apply a hair treatment after.I suggest to use hair treatment every day until the hair goes back to its normal texture.

The I didnt achieved the exact color I want because I bleached it for so long.If you don't want a lighter shade, just bleach it for 15-20 minutes.

I don't achieve the Purplish Red I guess because I bleached it too much.I guess if you dont want lighter shade, bleach it for less than 30 minutes then color it.But I'm quite satisfied because the shade almost like the hair color of Hayley Williams.hahaha...

If you have question, feel free to leave a comment below...

Evas Vitamin Hand Product Review

The first time that I spotted this product in Watson's, I'm amazed because of the packaging . Looks so expensive in that silver tube as well as the korean-character printed in front of it makes it look so imported from Korea ( actually Evas is a korean-brand, hehehe ). And one thing that grabs my attention is you can buy this in a buy 1 take one.Actually its not on sale ( I guess ) because I'm been buying this every month and they always sell it in a buy 1 take one package for 139pesos but there's one time that they sold this for only 109pesos then it went back to 139pesos.

I honestly love this product I even use it for my whole body. The texture is not that heavy compare to other hand creams. This one comes in different scents: Lemon, Avocado and Winter Cherry flavour but the scent is not that strong which is perfect if you prefer your perfume to stand out.

My Verdict:

Evas Vitamin Hand Lotion is great hand cream that I personally recommend.Actually I've been using this for almost a year now.

Since the description of the product is printed in korean-character so there's a label sticked on top of it with an english-translation of what's inside of this tube.
